ICT Service Department

In 2001 KSTVET (formerly KTTC) in collaboration with the Flemish Association for Development Corporation and Technical Assistance (VVOB) started a higher diploma course in technical teacher education. This course mainly aimed at equipping technical teachers with managerial skills so that they could serve effectively in various administrative capacities in educational institutions. Initially the course was offered under education department but later in 2004, the ICT Integration and Open Learning Department was established and the HDDTE course moved there. The course was taken back to Education department.

The department has since changed to ICT services department which is now a full service department charged with integration of ICT in the teaching and learning process. To facilitate the use of the new approach, an ICT center equipped with a learning resource Centre (LRC) and networked computer labs were established.  The LRC consists of a documentation centre, a cyber and a Training Room equipped with interactive smart boards.

The department also maintains the Local Area Network (LAN) and a wireless network to enhance internet connectivity. It also supports other departments in the College in their communication and ICT integration needs. ICT equipment such as laptops and LCD projectors are available for borrowing by the lecturers for use in class.
